"DC Water will not re-route traffic through the alleys during construction in Bloomingdale"

Regarding the concerns of some Bloomingdale residents regarding the possible re-routing of vehicular traffic to Bloomingdale alleys during the multi-year 1st Street Tunnel project -- I asked DC Water to confirm if there were ANY plans to EVER EVER EVER direct traffic to alleys.

You can see the response below from DC Water's Emanual Briggs.

Scott-

DC Water will not re-route traffic through the alleys during construction in the Bloomingdale neighborhood. Based on resident feed back during our block specific meetings in June, there is existing concern for the level of traffic in the alleys. DC Water will work with DDOT to identify measures that will limit the amount of throughway traffic in the alleys during First Street Tunnel construction.

Thank you for your questions and comments.
